Jeff was born & raised in Baltimore, MD to Harry & Elma Twardy. His father worked as a railroad engineer for over 40 years. He still lives in Baltimore. His mother was a wonderful homemaker. She passed away in 1996. They created a home for them and their children where God was honored and church attendance was common place. Jeff is the youngest of three. Both Suzian and Brian live in Baltimore.

He graduated from Towson University in ’84 with a BS in Communication Science and from Wesley Theological Seminary in ’89 with a Master of Divinity degree. He married April, also of the class of ’89 from Wesley and a native Alabamian, in 1987. Both have served as United Methodist pastors in South Carolina & Alabama since 1989. They are the proud parents of two teenagers, Eli & Anna.

Jeff and his family have ministered and attended Hewett since June, 2008.

Jake Barrett

Jake is a United Methodist Preachers kid raised primarily in Alabama. Jake has more than 15 years of Student Ministry and worship leading experience. Jake is a graduate of University of Alabama Birmingham and is currently seeking his Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary and plans to pursue his orders for elder in the United Methodist Church. Jake is a fan of the University of Alabama. ROLL TIDE!!

Jake is married to Ellen Linholm Barrett and counts himself the most blessed man on the planet because of her. Jake and Ellen have have three children six years and under, who keep them busy and on the edge of sanity (in a good way).

Minister of Music:

Scott Rains

Sott has been on staff at Hewett since 1995. Prior to coming to Hewett Scott served as youth and music director at West Side Baptist Church in Jacksonville Alabama and Bulah and First Baptist churches of Albertville.

Scott graduated from Albertville High School in 1981 and Jacksonville State University in 1985. He and Carolyn Winkles Rains have been married since 1985 and Scott has been the director of the award winning Choral Music program at Albertville High School since 1986.

Worship Minister:

Robin Harris

Robin Is the daughter of a Missionary Baptist pastor. After joining Hosanna Christian Fellowship and being Spirit filled, she began leading worship. She has had more than 20 years experience in leading people into the presence of God; 9 years of it here at Hewett. Robin also teaches private piano and voice lessons.

Robin has been married to Jeff S. Harris for 27 years and has two beautiful children; Nathan who is 7 years old and Makayla who is 4 years old. They are a great source of joy to her.

Robin's greatest desire is to see "the church" come into a personal intimate relationship with the one true God. When this occurs, the church will burst forth with worship and adoration of our Savior and king! To God be the Glory!
